Our shops are only small and we have limited storage space. That means we can't accomodate goods that have been purchased and not collected or delivered for very long. So here's the storage deal:
You've bought something, either in person, over the phone or web. You then have up to 14 days in which to collect your purchase, during which time, we don't charge. If you fail to take delivery or collect it within 14 days from the day you bought it, then we will move it to our storage warehouse. In that instance, we will charge you £45 to have it transported to our warehouse and this charge is in addition to the storage fees.
Our storage warehouse is situated in London W7 (Hanwell) because it's cheaper all the way out there. For the address and stuff, click here.
We charge £32 per week or part week, per item to store your goods. It's not a punitive charge. We don't make any money out of it. It just covers the cost. It's pretty cheap compared with other storage in London, although you're welcome to move it and store it elsewhere if you prefer.
If you're storing a set of chairs, we'd consider that to be one item (up to 8 chairs). If you're storing a table and chairs, that'd be considered 2 items. Similarly, 1 sofa = 1 item, but 1 large sofa, 1 small sofa and a footstool = 3 items.
If you've ordered something (a sofa for example) we will have told you the length of time you should expect to wait until it is in stock and ready for collection or delivery. The time we give you will be, for example, 'Up to 12 weeks'. In storage terms, that means if your sofa arrives in 8 weeks, we'd expect you to collect or take delivery of it within 14 days of the 8 weeks. After week 10 we will begin to charge you storage. You can't say, 'But you said it was going to take 12 weeks'. The only exception to this will be if you told us a specific date that you wanted it at the point of purchase. If this happened and we were able to agree to a particular date, then it will be detailed on your receipt.
Oh, and we won't move your stored items, or items you've ordered that are awaiting collection or delivery back to our shops. They're just too small to hold them. In exceptional circumstances, if we agree to move something to one of our branches for you to collect, you would still incur a £45 delivery charge, at which point, you'd be more sensible to use our delivery service.
Finally, all storages charges must be paid for before we will either deliver or allow you to collect your goods.
In short - storage makes sense and is reasonably priced if you're having building work or something similar, but otherwise just live with your purchase at home. You know it makes sense... |
