The 200 series, AKA Pyramid phone, was originally manufactured pre WW2, this was the first telephone to have a handset combining an ear and mouth piece.
Coloured ones were made for Whitehall and not the general public and were referred to as the Show Girls. They came in ivory, green and red and are very rare and costly as a result.
This would serve for many years as the Post Office's standard issue, being gradually replaced during the 1940s by the 300 series, which was cheaper and easier to produce.
The 200 however was so loved that many owners refused to surrender their beloved models for the modern replacements.
Available predominantly in black, we occassionally have ivory or green models available. Highly sought these colours command an ever increasing price.
A variety of old phones are available at After Noah.
All our phones have been reconditioned, plug straight into BT sockets and are offered with a one year Return to Base Warranty, they are not covered
against accidental damage or misuse. Answering machines and faxes should not be affected, however these phones may not work on some modern internal office phone systems.
Available mail order Mainland U.K. Postage and Packing charges, usually £15-25 depending on the exact model. |
