The wall version of the 700 series phone was introduced around the same time in 1959 as the desk version and is sometimes known as the 800 series, but did not fully replace the 300 series until 1968. Made of lightweight plastic it was much quicker and cheaper to produce, paving the way for every home to have a phone. Available in either cream or black (with black being more tricky to find). They did make them in red too, but these were only issued to the Fire Brigade and so unsurprisingly, we hardly ever see these.
Today we offer them for sale fully reconditioned and ready to plug into a BT telephone socket. In a range of colours: Red, Ivory and Black They are available as a dial phone or pushbutton. The pushbutton models were only ever issued to offices, they do work but require you to dial slower and more deliberately than you might with a modern phone.
Wall models also available please enquire.
Offered with a 12 month Return to base warranty, they are not covered against accidental damage or misuse. |
